Kev and Mikes' Groovy Thing

Live jazz band on at 4pm until 5.30 pm on the Performance stage

The unstoppably foot tapping world of Kev and Mike's Groovy Thing is a sure hit for everyone at the Brighton Vegan Fayre. The late 60s saw a flourishing scene of jazz that was upbeat, blues informed and accessible, played by the likes of Ramsey Lewis and Cannonball Adderly and this project (led by Mike Willox - keyboards and Kevin Figes - saxophones) aims to recall that fiery combination of tight grooves and flamboyant instrumentation.

Kev and Mike's Groovy Thing does what it says on the box, the whole thing is a fine recipe for a great time.

The Food Magicians

The Food Magicians will be holding regular smoothie-making workshops for kids throughout the day, and will also have loads of copies of their magic book available too.

Ankle – biters magically all turn into magicians as if by magic whilst preparing ingredients by using spells, which also contain values and messages about food and culture. With simple recipes that can all be made within 30 minutes, The Food Magicians Spell Book offers a wonderful way to help nippers get excited and interested in fantastic, healthy, vegan food.

If you are looking for presents it comes with its own fairtrade sparkly spell bag, so you don’t even need to wrap it, and every book sold also helps feed a hungry child in Zululand with vegan food for one month through the Banana Appeal Charity! Creative Kids

Creative Kids proved a huge hit at the Bristol Vegan Fayre 2008 and it would have been rude not to have invited them to Brighton - and we are thrilled to announce they will be present in full effect in the Kids Area on March 21st 09 at the Brighton Show, along with one of their UV dens as well as a display and workshops involving their Zambia Project, where they have been all winter bringing smiles and lots more to kids across Zambia.

Creative kids run workshops to encourage children and families to use their imaginations and engage with the environment that surrounds them. Activities are for 5-12yrs with an Ultra Violet Underwater den.

The dens offer children a unique experience inside a magical underwater world with fish, shipwrecks and sharks. There are pads, to jump on, which trigger sounds and different textured objects to be explored.

All Activities use UV reactive materials, which glow up inside the den. Including; puppets, mask making, face painting, hats, costumes and painting.

LET YOUR IMAGINATION COME ALIVE,
EXPERIENCE YOUR SENSES AND PLAY!
